What should I do with my flowers until I can drop them off?
We ask that you drop off the bouquet within 72 hours of the event. Try and keep your flowers in water until you drop them off. Keeping them in AC as much as possible is also very helpful. Wedding days and events can be very hectic so make a plan with a bridesmaid or family member to keep the bouquet safe until it is time to drop off your bouquet. Do not put your bouquet in a plastic bag for delivery and do not freeze your bouquet before delivery.
What do I do if I am shipping my bouquet?
Have a box ready to go before the big day and fill it with tissue paper. Do not wrap the flower part of the bouquet with plastic. Plastic will lock in heat and moisture and cause the bouquet to deteriorate faster. Paper is best! Before you ship, take a few damp paper towels and wrap around the bottom of the stems to try and retain some moisture for travel. Then wrap just the stems with a small baggie and secure with a rubber band. I highly suggest overnighting the bouquet to cut down on travel time as much as possible. Once the piece is finished I will mail it back to you and I’ll send you a receipt for shipping costs and ask for reimbursement.
What’s your turn around time?
Turn around time varies depending on how many bouquets I am currently working with. However, as a rule of thumb I usually will have your flowers back to you within a month. If it’s going to be longer than that I will let you know.
Will my bouquet look exactly the same as it did on my wedding day?
The answer is unfortunately no. Flowers are organic, living material. When flowers undergo the drying process they naturally change colors. As much as we would like for them to stay as vibrant as they were on our special day, we need to be realistic about how they may change over time. White flowers are particularly tough to maintain because they naturally turn brownish or yellowish, and each flower is different. No two flowers will dry or look exactly the same after being pressed and framed. Flowers and greenery will continue to change colors once they are in the frame over time. With that being said, the sooner we get the bouquet and start pressing it, the better the colors tend to turn out. Rest assured in knowing we are doing our very best to keep your florals looking beautiful!
How should I care for my pressed flowers after I have picked them up?
To try and maintain the color we suggest hanging your artwork somewhere that is not in direct sunlight. We also suggest avoiding anywhere there may be moisture (think bathrooms.) If your artwork is left in a humid spot it could run the risk of molding and we do not want that to happen!
What if something goes wrong?
On very rare occasions, things can go wrong. This could be, a bouquet is mailed and when it arrives some of the flowers are rotting. If this happens, we will notify you immediately. We will make an individual plan for you at that time which could be replacing some of the flowers, or going with a smaller framed artwork, etc.
Please keep in mind that flowers are organic material and even with our best efforts sometimes weird things can happen. That is why it’s important to keep your pressed flowers away from moisture. Even a fully dried floral can re-retain moisture if not cared for. If you notice any mold on your flowers please notify us immediately. We will do our very best to figure out a solution!
